Our school's statement regarding transgender individuals as well as LGBTQIA+, while being associated and linked with the catholic church

p1: The Catholic Church's stance on transgender people

The Church generally maintains that sex is a natural and immutable characteristic determined at conception, it also emphasizes the importance of dignity and love for all individuals, including transgender people.

Recent statements from the Vatican have indicated that transgender people can be baptized and participate in other church sacraments, while also maintaining a cautious approach to gender-affirming care

The Vatican has acknowledged the reality of gender dysphoria and the potential for significant suffering it can cause, even from childhood

p2: Medical research

Research consistently indicates that gender-affirming care, including hormone therapy, puberty blockers, and surgery, can lead to positive mental health outcomes. Studies have shown that individuals who receive gender-affirming care experience decreased rates of depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts compared to those who do not have access to such care.

Gender-affirming care has been linked to increased life satisfaction, positive affect, and overall well-being. Individuals report higher levels of happiness and reduced gender dysphoria after receiving gender-affirming care.

p3:The Catholic Church's stance on LGBTQ+

The Catholic Church's stance on LGBTQ+ issues is complex and has evolved over time, with a history of resistance and a growing, though still contested, movement toward more inclusion. Officially, the Church maintains that same-sex relationships are not morally acceptable, but Pope Francis has expressed more openness and compassion toward LGBTQ+ individuals, including offering blessings for same-sex couples

p4: statement from St. Albert archbishop

The subject has always been a difficult for generations in the Catholic Church weather need be so or not.

what has always been made clear, faith and religion should never be used to discriminate, spread hate and take human rights away from another.
we are asked to love one another equally. Scripture should never be used to justify hate. The Catholic Church is open to everyone. and remember The official teaching of the Catholic Church, regarding lgbtqia+, “must be accepted with respect, compassion and sensitivity.
Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided.”
we need to care for our neighbor and support them on their paths.

p5: HSEE

While our school is linked and joined to st. albert catholic church and is primarily a catholic school. we welcome all faiths and people. everyone should be treated with dignity and respect.

HSEE & st albert is a joint school and church at the same time can be 2 separate. Being respectful to our churches is a requirement of students. it is not required for students to join the catholic mass. we fully accept anyone LGBTQIA+ the same as anyone. Hate, abuse, harassment & discrimination are not tolerated. all should be free to express themselves in there true selves & feel safe. we respect our religious leadership on issues regarding faiths and views on the matter by other faiths.

We must also respect the research as stated above and thus all students' wellbeing and safety is top priority, medical evidence and experiences with historic data show allowing trans and all lgbtqia+ to be themselves can be and has been done to include and not exclude their rights in all spaces without ever endangering anyone. Everyone deserves to live as themselves. we will always support all students, staff & families, we will not do so at the cost of another's rights. we will stand by the well-being of LGBTQIA+ individuals without ever having to compromise anyone who are not LGBTQIA+.

Discriminating against others is never the answer for anything. no one is ever forced to take part in any awareness. disgust for others who may not be like you says more about you.
